On 15 January 2026, ThaiCham Indonesia together with H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic Indonesia, and H.E. Ms. Prinat Apirat, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, handed over a donation of IDR 380 million, along with various daily necessities such as sanitary supplies, stationery, and other essential items, to support communities affected by the floods in Sumatra through Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI), with Mr. A.M. Fachir, PMI Secretary-General.
This initiative was part of the activity titled “United in Loyalty” organized by the Thai community in Indonesia, comprising government agencies, private companies, associations, and various organizations.
The activity aimed to offer royal merit in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, and to express goodwill, compassion, and moral support from the Thai community in Indonesia to the Indonesian people affected by the flooding.
Mr. A.M. Fachir expressed his gratitude to the Thai community, emphasizing the close and enduring relationship between Thailand and Indonesia, even during difficult times.
He also noted that the flooding in North Sumatra on this occasion resulted in more than 1,000 fatalities and affected over 3.3 million people in the region.
